Dear Madeira Families,

First and foremost, thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and belief in the value of a Madeira education. We have weathered much together this year, and our student learning outcomes have been inspiring. While we remain vigilant and focused on community health and wellness, we are starting to see signs that COVID-19 may be loosening its grip. As we look to next year, we are sharing our current thinking on operations for the 2021-22 school year. I want to underscore that we will continue to monitor and adjust as the viral landscape does the same.

We believe that in-person learning is best for our community, and we are making plans to ensure we can offer robust, joyful, and immersive programming for all our students on campus. We know that a few students or families may have extenuating circumstances that might require their student to be a remote learner; for example, a significant medical/health consideration or international travel/visa concerns. In those instances, for the 2021-22 school year, we plan to offer families the option to be approved for remote learning on a Fall/Spring basis rather than a Mod-by-Mod basis. For any student or family who may seek approval to be a remote student because of medical, travel, or other extenuating circumstances, we have not yet determined if there will be a tuition rebate. More details about the remote learning approval process will be shared over the summer.

We hope that this information, coupled with our Important Dates for the 2021-22 school year, will help you to visualize our return to the post-pandemic learning world at Madeira. We are so grateful for your continued partnership in your daughter's education.

Sincerely yours,

Gretchen Warner
