Independent School League February Update
February 3, 2021
We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate the challenges that have been presented by COVID-19 within our athletic program. The Independent School League (ISL) has issued a decision that the league is not yet able to proceed with competitions for a modified “fall” season this February through April, given the pandemic challenges.
Our goal for the athletic program remains unchanged, and that is to continue the social, emotional, and physical benefits of our athletic program.
To that end, we will be moving forward with the following:
Winter Athletic D-Blocks (Swim & Dive, Basketball, Rock Climbing)
All winter athletic D-Blocks will conclude on Friday, February 5th.
Non-Athletic D-Blocks (Fitness, Advanced Fitness, Karate/Self Defense)
All non-athletic D-Block winter activities will conclude on Friday, February 12.
No Condensed ISL “Fall” Season Games
With continuous concerns related to COVID the ISL has decided not to move forward with the non-traditional fall season slated to begin in late February.
Non-Athletic Spring D-Blocks (Fitness, Advanced Fitness, Pilates, Zumba, Tennis 101, Volleyball 101, Advanced Tennis, Swimming 101)
All non-athletic Spring D-Block activities will begin on Monday, February 22.
Spring Sports (Lacrosse, Softball, Track & Field, Varsity Tennis)
No Athletic D-Block Monday February 8-12.
Spring Sports Training (Optional): Tuesday, February 16-25
(Training sessions will not be conducted on Friday’s during this two-week time frame.)
In the event that the ISL proceeds with a traditional Spring season, please note:
· Spring Sports Tryouts: March 1-3
· First Practice: Thursday, March 4
· End of Season: Friday, May 14
We remain hopeful that state and regional restrictions and COVID metrics will improve to allow us to move forward with an ISL spring season in April.
